BIRNIE BUS MOVES THE BOILERMAKER

The 33rd annual Boilermaker, the largest 15 K road race in the United States, was held July 11, 2010 in Utica NY with Birnie Bus Service again providing race transportation for the runners. Over 13,000 runners were registered making this the largest participation ever. Birnie provided 24 buses from two staging areas that moved some 12,000 runners...

Rome will continue to ride with Birnie Bus:

By DAVE GYMBURCH Staff writer

After reviewing formal busing bids for the first time in memory, the Rome School District plans to stick to the route with its longtime contract holder Birnie Bus Service.

Superintendent Jeffrey P. Simons said Friday he will recommend that the Board of Education award the new 3-year contract for its main student busing services to Birnie, for consideration at the board's next regular meeting June 2. The contract would take effect July 1.
