Safety Managers travel to each school and view the onboarding and offboarding of students and are on-site in the event of an accident. Safety Managers spend time at the district working with the Transportation Department to discuss strategies to improve, enhance, and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the students/drivers/monitors, as well as the district employees.
Continuing semi-annual safety classes with all operations personnel designed to keep up-to-date with changing regulations, as well as to rectify actions/un-followed procedures that were identified as being a risk by the district and through Birnie Bus personnel during morning, afternoon, and evening observations.
Bi-monthly service/safety meeting with Operations Manager, Dispatcher, Area General Manager, Transportation Manager, and VP Operations to discuss events of the previous two weeks and brainstorm how to eliminate/minimize/reduce or maintain behaviors and activities. The meeting will also be designed to discuss parent/teacher/administration concerns on service-related topics.
